A tribute to the D.I.D.s..!
The acronym stands for Damsels in Distress, a name given to us by MJ, derived from places which I can't dispatch because of reasons which I also cant say...^^; Let me start by saying sorry for the crappy pic (I can't do any better... :p) and let's go on to the members...
First off the bat is Joan... (Joun) Our undisputed leader and decision maker, she is the eldest among us, yet the most petite...^^ She is the type of person who feels emotions to the extreme, meaning when she's happy, she's incomprehensible, but when she's angry, beware because her wrath burns with the intensity of the fires of the underworld..! Bwahahaha... Because of this, we try not to mess with her... She is rather sensitive and sometimes, without meaning anything, we upset her, but it all blows over pretty quickly... She's the one in charge mainly because we all depend on her for the final word... She may not be the one to come up with the ideas, but she's the one to approve or deny them... People usually get the impression that she's unapproachable, snobbish and snappy, but that's mostly because of her sharp facial features... Honestly, she does have a tendency to act like that towards people she's annoyed with, but she's really a generous and helpful person once you get to know her... Mature, yet childish at the same time, she loves to give out 'raspberries' and ask absurd questions like "do you fart..?" and "what color is your poo..?" And she does it with such a straight face it's hard not to crack up... All hail our mighty mistress..!
Next up is MJ... (Sumi) Easily the most noticeable one among us because of her friendly and boisterous nature... Also the most audible because her voice and laughter can break the sound barrier...^^ She can definitely dish out the decibels... And because of this, and a few other things like her love of video games, wrestling and her taekwondo status, she is perceived as this tough cookie tomboy that you don't want to mess with... And to some extent, she is... But a part of her is a full-fledged female, complete with all the estrogen and emotion that goes with it... But she still hates pink... However, she is still the most practical and straightforward in the group... She says what she means with brutal honesty... Also very creative, innovative and street smart, she is usually the one to come up with radical ideas (and excuses to save our asses when they backfire...) which Joan processes... She has a tad of a rebellious and mischievous nature in her which makes her my top companion (more like I'm her companion) for skipping classes and stupid school activities like the evil Fun Day and practice for the Field Demo and prom... She's dynamic, as well, shifting from fun and hyper mode to deep and thoughtful mode in a flash... Great for advice giving, as she has a strong 6th sense...^^ She and Joan also have a tendency to clash because of their similar headstrong personalities, but MJ is the only one I know who can equally take on Joan... Also, beware of Sumi when she's silent... She's either plotting something diabolical or... Thinking of kalibugan...^^
Hecil (Heshi) is our token intellectual... Mainly because she takes her studies seriously... And by this I mean studying during breaks, staying after school to finish seatwork, sacrificing lunch to study for something as trivial as a minor quiz, passing every homework, every project, every seatwork, taking extra credit assignments and helping out the teachers, even lecturing the rest of us for slacking off... The classic teacher's pet that I love to hate... But I can't hate Heshi... No one can... Because she's the sweetest, nicest thing you could ever hope to come by... Once, someone called me the 'nice one' in the group... But that would have to be Heshi... She has this childish charm that radiates through her face and personality, an air of innocence, some might say... Mainly because of her excessive respect (fear, at times) for authority, cheery sense of humor, immense cuteness and seeming inability to feel anger... Despite her youthful aura, she is wise beyond her years and has her share of angst and sadness... It has come to a point that she has become my moral guide... It's her voice I hear in my head when I'm guilty... Surely, with her infectious personality, she attracts people to her in flocks...
And... Miru... Wait, that's me..! Who am I in the group, anyway..? The one who dragged them all into the paper staff, the one who walks the fastest but always trails at the back or the one who literally towers above them all despite the fact that she's the youngest..? Hehe... To stereotype myself, I'd be the 'quiet one'... NOT the 'angsty one'... I'm the one with the tendency to talk to herself and space out into long bouts of silence... Some people say (makes me sound like some kind of urban legend) that when I'm deadly silent, that I'm lost deep in thought... But in reality, my brain just picked a time to die and revive itself... They say I'm weird in the autistic way and my sense of humor seems to solely apply to me at times... Other than that, I'm the dakilang alalay/utusan, the one you call when you need someone to go with you to buy a pen from the variety store... Or the one you just ask to buy the damned pen for you... I'm pretty much game for anything and I'll follow you where you have to go... I guess it can be said that I'm the mild mannered one, as well, covering my mouth to smile or laugh (inaudibly), moving in minimal proportions and carrying myself with utmost femininity and grace, only to fail miserably because of my clumsiness... But being the meek one doesn't mean that I don't (counter)beat up MJ with my slaps and punches of DOOM..! ... DOOM..!
And the girl who's penciled in, our shadow member, that is Dinxy... She's had quite a few (to put it lightly) falling outs with the other members and because of this, certain someones don't consider her a D.I.D. anymore... As a matter of fact, she has been removed from the official listing (damn, that sounds dorky) which is why I was reluctant to make her a clear presence in the picture... But it wouldn't feel right to leave her out so I just sketched her in... When she is accepted again, I'll ink her in... Anyway, she's the most hyper one... Very genki... Cheerful and bouncy, she might seem annoying at times because of her happy-perky-sunshine attitude, but that's part of her charm... Aside from that, she's multi-talented... A Jill-of-all-trades, she can draw, write, sing and dance and is pretty smart as well... And she is also the only one among us with an active lovelife... Haha... She never seems to run out of things to say and can keep up a conversation until your lips are tired of flapping... Also to be noted, she can be crybaby and is very sensitive, especially when it comes to her friends... We are alike in the sense that we are deathly loyal to our pals and to be dissed or (worse) betrayed by them will crush us... However, she possesses a forgiving heart and is quick to apologize just to regain the acceptance of her peers... She's also my mock girlfriend, by the way... Hahaha...
So that's us... A bunch of semi-normal people... No, no cheesy messages down here... Just a simple shout out to the D.I.D.s... Love ya guys..! ^_~
