These bus tickets are my memorabilia from my first ever preliminary exam...
And what a day it was...
British Literarure (Lit201) was scheduled for the day, and that was it... A major subject held by the professor that everyone loves to hate, Barney..! Or as I like to call her, Aling Fely...
When my mom woke me up at around 4:00 AM, it was raining pretty hard... I was still hellishly sleepy, so I was praying that classes would be suspended... So that I'd have more time to sleep, and eventually, study... Unfortunately, fate was not on my side, so at around 5:00, I got out of bed and hopped into the shower...
I got to Almar at around 6:00 and waited a mental equivalent of eternity for an FX that never came... Dismayed, I decided to catch a ride at North Olympus, like I usually do when I'm unlucky at Almar... When I got to Olympus, lo and behold... The line was... Well, it was pretty damn long... I saw my blockmate Ces in the line and asked if I could cut, but she wouldn't let me... Haha... So I trudged to the back... I even saw a former schoolmate (and former crush) in line, but we didn't pay any attention to each other...
After 45 minutes, I got tired of waiting for FXs that didn't come, so I got out of line and asked Ces if she wanted to come with me and hitch a ride on a jeep... She agreed, so we waited for something to pass by... We considered taking a cab, a jeep or a bus... We went with the bus, since it was the first one that came along by the time we'd made a decision...
It was airconditioned, and we were lucky enough to get seats, but not very good ones... We were at the front of the bus, on this multi-person seat thing that I can't describe... It wasn't too comfortable, but it was tolerable... I started to study for the test, lest I flunk and have Aling Fely nag at me all summer...
At Zabarte, near Sacred Heart, this really cute guy got onto the bus... Haha..! I guess I wasn't too focused on the Cavaliers and the Puritans... He was fairly tall, chinito, and had on a navy blue jacket... I remember he had a cute bag and a few pins on it... A soccer ball, a swastika (which I wasn't fond of) and a few other I can't recall... There weren't anymore seats, so he had to resort to clutching onto the poles... Luckily for me, I was seated near a pole... Hahaha..!
As the bus got more crowded, the people were all getting a little too close for comfort... Even the dude... I had to keep myself in balance, because everytime the bus jerked, I got a little too acquainted with the dude... However, just keep in mind that he was standing up, and I was sitting down... Not a very comfortable scenario... But there was this really nice old lady that was sitting near me... She offered to hold the bag of this one lady who was standing, and she helped me to get in a more comfortable position...
The whole ride I spent reading up on British literature, worrying about the time and trying not to crash into the dude... After a while, I closed the reader, pretty much fed up with Spenser and Shakespeare and Malory... And after a while, more people got off the bus which means I got to sit next to the dude... Haha..! One good reason to ride the bus... Dang, that dude was cute..!
Anyway, when we finally arrived at school, (ah, to bid a silent farewell to my love of... 2 hours, or so... XD) we were already 45 minutes late... I thanked God that at least there was someone there with me, so I wouldn't have to pop in the classroom all alone... I even saw Kelly by the fountain near the entrance... Hehehe... Going back, it turns out that Ces and I weren't the only drastically late arrivals... We ran into Elaine and Brice in the hall who didn't know where the testing room was... When we found the room, no one wanted to go in first... Hehe... But eventually, we all went in at once and got out heads snapped off by Barney...
The four of us were only given 15 minutes to finish the test... I had to go with my insticts on the test, there wasn't enough time to think out things too much... I even made a mistake on one of the tests because I missed the directions... Instead of just writing the letter of the choices, I wrote out the entire titles of the pieces... In my defense, the directions weren't mentioned in that part, and the choices were at the very bottom of the test (and on a different page than the first part) so I had to secretly borrow liquid paper from Kamae... It's a good thing I didn't get caught, or else Barney would have dipped me in a vat of purple ink and hang me on her wall, or something... I actually answered all the questions on the test, most likely with nonsense, but answers nonetheless...
And when I got out of that room, my brain still hadn't recovered and was pretty disoriented... I must have looked like a loon, but then again, that wouldn't have been much of a departure of how I usually look...
Some way to start my first college exam... Well, at least that dude on the bus was cute... XD
