mood: strangely enlightened
music: Heaven- um... YFC North A4 version, I guess..?)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah... So today I attended the YFC meeting at Tito Billy's place that Kuya Miko called... I usually don't go to those things if MJ doesn't come along, but I decided to seperate myself for a while... I already missed practically all the prayer meetings coz MJ didn't feel like going... Besides, I already told Kuya Benjie that I'd be there, I already bailed on him at least twice, so I felt guilted into showing up...
Actually, I was pretty reluctant on going since tomorrow's our test in Lit201... I didn't study yesterday because of the makeup classes in Sociology and Geography (what a combination... x_x) so I really needed to cram... What happened was, I just brought along my reader, a pen and my trusty highlighter... Purple, of course...
While I was getting dressed, I got a text message... It was from Kuya Miko using Irene's number... He was asking if I wanted to meet them somewhere, since I didn't know exactly where Tito Billy's house was... I agreed, and so we planned to meet at the GotoKing in Robinson's... I probably shouldn't have said yes since the meeting was supposed to be at 1:00, and it was already 12:45 by then... Haha... But YFC happenings are never on time, anyway...
At around 1, I left home, got on a Camarin-bound jeep and paid for a ride to Zapote... I didn't want to take the Almar route since they're fixing the road by Cielito which makes for killer traffic and dust... But while I was on the way, Kuya Miko texted again, with a different number this time (later, I found out that it was Kuya Esau's a.k.a. Utol/Bunso) asking if it was alright if we just met at the Flying V across from Junji St... I couldn't say no, so I just told him I'd see him there... I got off at Almar, since it would be impractical to go by the Zapote way... The traffic wasn't really that bad... I got to Zabarte at around 1:30 and saw no one at the Flying V... After standing around for a while and getting weird looks from passers-by, I texted the unknown number again to tell Kuya Miko that I was there... While waiting, I opened my reader, hoping to maximize my study time... It didn't take long for Kuya Miko to get there... I din't recognize him right away since he was wearing this pink and baby blue colored cap... The colors of Utol..! So it wasn't too much of a surprise when I saw that Kuya Esau was with him, and so was Ate Cherry...
I ran up to them, and was welcomed my Kuya Miko's expected high five... Kuya Esau tried to say hi, but since I like being a snob to Bunso, (Feel na feel ko ang pagiging "Ate" ni "Bunso"... Haha...) I brushed him off with my usual "Ayoko sa'yo... Masama ka..." line... Ate Cherry just smiled and that's when Kuya Miko realized that we might not have been introduced... I already knew her from the Covenant Orientation, but I wanted to be sure of who it was... Hehe... There wasn't much talking (on my part, at least) on the way to Tito Billy's, but Kuya Miko did ask how UST life was... After that, Ate Cherry and Kuya Esau went on to ask him how PUP was... The rest, I don't remember so well, but I do remember hearing Kuya Miko say that people were looking weirdly at us... No idea why, though...
I felt kind of awkward walking into the house, basically because everyone else seemed so welcome there, and since I was a new member, and a new acquaintance in general, well, I was kind of out of place... I was surprised to know that Leslie was already there... She was just in a sleeveless shirt and shorts, so it was a bit more awkward because I felt kinda overdressed... But I rationalized in my head that I still had to go to mass (bait na bata... XD) and pass by SM on the way home...
I sat on the couch and started reviewing the historical background of the Anglo-Saxon period of British literature... Kuya Miko sat down next to me and asked if he could help me with my lessons... It was a nice gesture, but a sophomore HRM major and a Literature freshman apparently don't have similar courses... I showed him what I was reading, and he flipped through a few pages before handing it back to me saying "Dinudugo ako rito..." Hehe...
After a while, people finally started showing up... Nikki, Anita and two other people I didn't recognize, Joseph and some unknown dude, then Ahren and Kim who almost walked past the house (buti na lang nakasilip sa bintana si Bunso...) and Kuya Benjie made a grand entrance with shades and all... Hehe... It was around 2:30 then, I guess... Kuya Miko had made a few announcements by then, which he would have to repeat later...
So we started with the worship and opening prayer, and didn't exactly get down to business... We started with kwentuhan, basically... Just a sharing session about what happened during the week... I was amused by this part:
Kim: Exam kasi namin...
Ahren?: Bagsak ka..?
Kim: Bagsak nga...
Not outstanding comedy, but Kim had this deadpan look on his face... Things like that make me happy... Hehehe... Nikki had an interesting evening out yesterday, apparently (I use this word too much, don't I..?) she went to her friend's debut yesterday, and they went to some pub in Timog... She came home at 7:00 that morning... Ha..! Anita had a long story of "abangan"-ness (na hindi rin natuloy, parang yung pag-aabang namin ni MJ... XD) that I don't really remember... Leslie didn't talk much since she had a problem with her vocal chords, Kuya Benjie had these painful training stories, I don't remember what Ate Cherry, Joseph and the unknown peeps said... Bunso had an amusing story which was amusing basically because it involved his humiliation... XD It was about how he copied his homework from a classmate early that day and how another classmate copied his homework... Unfortunately for him, that classmate got caught... So the both of them were asked to sing in front of class... Haha... Buena mano pa ang loko... I didn't really have much to say except that I saw a few former schoolmates, which was then followed by Kuya Miko teasing me that I must have seen my crush, with which Kuya Esau replied, "Nasa bahay kaya..." Haha... Real funny, Bunso... Then I mentioned the makeup classes we had yesterday... According to Ate Cherry, we have some pretty unusual subjects... Then I ranted about the test tomorrow, which got me called bitter at Aling Fely... Hahaha..!
Then Kuya Miko gave us this activity thing that he got from his Management prof... It was interesting, actually... A hypothetical situation which involves choosing between people who get to live and (possibly) die... We had a laugh when practically everyone killed off Mang Kadyo... I don't feel like explaining the entire thing, so I won't... Hahaha..!
After that, we ate our snacks, egg sandwiches and Coke, while Kuya Miko repeated the announcements about all the conferences that were coming up... Creative conference and everything like that... I have no idea what category to go for... I'd prefer band, but since MJ will likely pounce for the bassist position, and I have lost all competence for the keyboards, there's no place for me... I'm considering either choir (which I have experience at) or cheering (which I also have experience at, but suck at) Never will I join the dance... I adamantly refuse... But I won't have to make a final decision until the end of the month, anyway...
After the meeting, a few of the members said that they were going to mass, so I asked if i could tag along... I mean, it was better that going alone... There were just six of us, Leslie, Ate Cherry, Kuya Miko, Kuya Benjie, Kuya Esau and I... It was raining and there were only two umbrellas between the six of us, so it was Ate Cherry, Kuya Miko and I under one, and Kuya Benjie, Leslie and Bunso under the other one... As you can probably tell, we didn't exactly stay dry during the walk... I got my reader pretty wet... Luckily, the purple highlighter ink didn't smear...
We were around half an hour late for the mass... It was the first time I'd been inside Mary the Queen... I just recently found out that they were finished building that church... Since there weren't anymore vacancies in the pews, we went upstairs, which was kinda freaky because there were just a few scattered chairs, and dust everywhere... It looked like a horror movie backdraft and it didn't help that the stairs were helplessly narrow...
I couldn't really hear what the priest was saying, so I honestly didn't listen too well to the sermons and whatnot... The others probably weren't either, since they kept on talking and hiding each others' stuff... Kuya Esau even mentioned to me that they adopted a cat and kept it at their grandfather's house, or something, I think... And I just had to be happy when that filled my mind with images of Kuya Eruz playing with a little cat... Haha... Adorable... *hearts*
It was a tad depressing walking under the rain along unknown streets... Mainly because I was hoping that someone else was under the umbrella with me... A certain other YFC member, *ahem*ahem* but mostly... Him... My archangel... I've been missing him way too much lately... But anyway...
I was surprised when I saw we were approaching the gate of Teresa Heights... I was wondering where the hell that place was... I told them I was leaving for SM, which surprised Kuya Miko since we walked farther away from there, at which Kuya Benjie apologized for mishearing me and telling me to go with them... Hehe... They hailed me a jeep and I was off...
I didn't do much at SM... Just bought a few pencils and some food at KFC... Then I went home right away... And read over my lessons again... Nothing really stuck in my head, actually...
Even though today was rainy, dreary, a tad lonely and tiring, I kinda wish that more of my days would be like this...
